ZAKA was founded in 1995 to ensure that people who die unnatural deaths, either in terrorist attacks or other forms of tragedy, are identified and buried according to Jewish tradition.
Today, however, the organization places equal emphasis on providing emergency medical assistance to victims at the scene of a tragedy.
We established 'The Zionist Majority' as a joint effort between 'Olim', new immigrants from the former Soviet Union and native Israelis to bring about change in Israeli society and in the Jewish world. Combining the experience of native Israelis together with the energy of the 'Olim', we strive to create a free and democratic Israeli civil society.
