The Extermination Camp at Treblinka - it has been estimated that about 850,000 people were killed here. Jews from occupied Poland, Czechoslovakia, France, Greece, Yugoslavia and the USSR, as well as from Germany and Austria. Polish and German Gypsies were also sent to Treblinka.
This web site is about Verkhniy Bystryy, a small village in the Carpathian Mountains of what is now Ukraine but formerly was part of Czechoslavakia and Hungary. This shtetl was formerly the home of 100 ultra-Orthodox families.
The Viktor Ullmann Foundation in the UK was establised by the concert pianist and painter Jacqueline Cole A.G.S.M., N/R Dip. M.T., in 2002. The aims of the Viktor Ullmann Foundation are to remember and celebrate the life, the works and the genuis of the Prager German composer Viktor Ullmann (1898-1944) who was deported from Theresienstadt concentration camp and murdered in Auschwitz on the 18th of October 1944.
