Welcome

Toni L. Kamins is a writer and former editor. She is the author of the Complete Jewish Guide to France and the Complete Jewish Guide to Britain and Ireland (St. Martin’s Press), and has covered a wide range of subjects for publications such as the New York Times, New York Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Daily News, Investors Business Daily, the Village Voice, the Jerusalem Post, and the Forward.

Born and raised in New York City, where she lives with her husband, Toni earned an undergraduate degree in modern European history from Hunter College and then went on to graduate study in political science and international relations at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and the Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) in Paris, France.

Following graduate school Toni went to work in book publishing, and from there it was but a short step to her first true love…writing.

Toni’s dynamic interest in a whole host of subjects from the practical to the esoteric informs her work. Whether it’s experiences from her many travels (“Marble Baths: Watch Your Step”, the New York Times; “Lost Bank Card: Trouble Abroad”, the New York Times), observations of the seemingly mundane (“How to Shop for Your Monster Television”, Investors Business Daily; “Miles of Isles”, New York Magazine) or her interest in politics (“Immigrant Prejudice, French Style”, the Los Angeles Times) she uses her broad base of knowledge and understanding along with her deft research skills to craft articles that hit the mark every time.

Toni’s first two books, the Complete Jewish Guide to France and the Complete Jewish Guide to Britain and Ireland grew out of three of her passions...travel, politics, and Jewish history. She was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to communicate this enthusiasm not only to her readers, but to an even wider audience all over the country when she undertook an extensive lecture tour to promote her books and the stories and information contained in them.
