Description

J-CLOWN (Jewish Clown Kibbutz or Clowns for Judaism) is an online Jewish community of clowns and other comic family/kid show entertainers interested in staying in touch with their Jewish heritage. Jewish clowns may incorporate Judaism, Hebrew or Yiddish into daily humor, educate Jewish children within the context of clowning or clown within the context of educating Jewish children, remember Shabbat or the High Holy Days while on the road, etc.

Group discussions often focus on the promotion of all clown arts that incorporate Jewish values, culture and life cycle events. Subscribers share good thoughts, creative ideas and explore how to reinforce Jewish culture, religious activities and Hebrew school curriculum through clowning. Appropriate posts include clean Jewish jokes, ideas on Jewish balloon sculpting for Purim and Hanukkah parties, routines for performing magic with a Jewish theme, supply resources and designs for face painting with a Jewish flair, or scripts for Jewish skit puppetry, to name a few areas of focus.

The main purpose of this list is to connect with other Jewish clowns who wish to contribute to building strong Jewish communities. Religious schoolteachers and family entertainers of all types are invited to join and participate in the informal discussions, as everyone benefits when using humor to educate our Jewish youth. Jewish clowns who perform in the secular community, (at hospitals, nursing homes, hospices, etc.) who belong to or are interested in establishing a Mitzvah Clown Alley in their congregation or at their JCC are invited to join and contribute to discussions as well.

Notice: If you wish to promote non-Jewish beliefs on this list, you're in the wrong place. Please do not subscribe or, if you made a mistake, please unsubscribe. Thank you for understanding.
